Conversion of Cutlery Canteen to Multi-Drawed Jewellery Casket | ||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Client wished to convert large cutlery canteen to jewell casket. The canteen had a split and warped lid and faulty lock, the finish being an ancient dark varnish. After stripping, the splits and lock repaired, the box was waxed to bring the natural oak grain through. All cutlery fittings removed, the drawers were then lined with a tan skiver after individual ring compartments were constructed to clients specification. In addition a secret lower compartment inserted in the lower deep drawer. Joints constructed were overlaid in dark blue skiver and individually gold tooled. |
